Keeping your pet’s vaccines up to date is one of the best ways to protect their long-term health. We provide personalized vaccination plans for dogs and cats, including puppy and kitten vaccines, booster shots, and preventive care tailored to your pet’s age, lifestyle, and risk factors. Our team makes the process simple, informative, and low stress so your pet stays protected through every stage of life.

Pets cannot tell us when they are at risk, which is why prevention matters. Vaccines help protect dogs and cats from serious and contagious diseases before they become dangerous. Keeping your pet up to date on vaccinations not only protects their health, but also helps prevent the spread of illness to other pets.
Our approach at Tandem is to make preventive care feel straightforward, not overwhelming. We take the time to explain what your pet needs and why, so you always leave with a clear picture of how to keep them protected.

When should my puppy or kitten start getting vaccinated?
Puppies and kittens usually start their first vaccines around 6 to 8 weeks of age, followed by booster visits every 2 to 4 weeks until they are around 16 weeks old. Your pet is not fully protected until about two weeks after their final round.
It depends on the vaccine. Rabies and DAPP or FVRCP are typically given every 1 to 3 years. Leptospirosis, Bordetella, and lifestyle vaccines are usually annual. Your vet will create a schedule based on your pet's history and risk factors.
Core vaccines are recommended for all dogs and cats. Lifestyle vaccines depend on your pet's age, habits, and exposure risk. At your visit, we review everything together and only recommend what makes sense.
Not at all. We see pets at every stage. Depending on how long it has been, we may restart a series or continue from where things left off.
Yes. Core vaccines like rabies and FVRCP are recommended for all cats. Rabies vaccination is required by law in Massachusetts regardless of lifestyle.
Mild tiredness and slight soreness are normal for a day or two. Facial swelling, persistent vomiting, or difficulty breathing are rare but require prompt attention.
We recommend vaccinating only when your pet is healthy. If they are showing signs of illness we will examine them first and decide on the best path forward together.
We recommend calling ahead so we can prepare for your pet's arrival. Same-day appointments are available whenever possible.
We provide detailed invoices you can submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement. Vaccinations are also included in the Pet Hero Plans.
